Research Projects

  • Clarification on growth process of flow-induced gel and it's limitation

    流動誘起ゲル相転移を利用した新技術・次世代の新規高機能性材料の開発等に向け,信頼性の高い流動誘起ゲルの理論の構築が必要とされる.本研究では,広い開水路の底面から浸出壁を介して界面活性剤溶液を浸み出すことで,開水路乱流中に流動誘起ゲルを作り出し,その時の空間的挙動を実験的に調査する.そして,流動と流動誘起ゲル構造に関する双方の解析を通じて,流動条件ごとの流動誘起ゲルの時空間構造を明らかにし,開水路乱流中で形成される流動誘起ゲルの成長過程と成長限界を解明することを目的とする. 本年度は,これまでに作成した大型開水路の改良を行いつつ,流動誘起ゲルの空間的挙動を調査した.開水路のせん断乱流に界面活性剤溶液を浸出させると,たとえ数十ppmのものであったとしても,流動誘起ゲルが壁面から壁面垂直方向に成長していく様子を捉えることに成功した.このとき,せん断乱流の溶液が水であった場合,規模は小さいものの流動誘起ゲルが形成されることがわかった.また,溶液の浸出開始付近であったとしても,流動誘起ゲルは10分ほどで壁から10cmオーダーの大きさに成長した.流動誘起ゲルはスパン方向に縞状の分布を持ち,流れ方向に一定の周期で揺らいでいる様子も確認された.流動誘起ゲルは固体的性質を有しているため流れをせき止める様子も確認されたが,触ると崩れる程度の強度であることがわかった., Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Early-Career Scientists, 2020/04 -2023/03, Principal investigator, Grant-in-Aid for Early-Career Scientists, Doshisha University

  • 界面活性剤添加による乱流渦の改変を利用した熱物質輸送制御

    前年度まとめた博士論文の一部である,液体の乱流へ界面活性剤を添加した際の省エネルギー効果をエクセルギー解析によって定量的評価を行った内容が,国際雑誌(IJHMT)に掲載された.その他にも,界面活性剤を添加した場合,壁鉛直方向速度変動に対して,主流方向速度変動と濃度変動が位相変調している内容について,査読付き国際学会1件の口頭発表として採択された.実験中,副次的に発見した,液体の平行平板間乱流へ界面活性剤溶液を浸出させた際に現れるゲル形成現象について国際学会(THMT9)にて発表した. スウェーデン王立工科大学との共同研究では,航空力学の分野で重要視される基礎研究である,粗さ付き平板上での境界層遷移について実験的に調査を行った.ゼロ圧力勾配条件下で,粗さに見立てた直径dの円柱一つを平板先端から300mmの位置に設置し,円柱高さhをマイクロ単位で変更したところ,円柱下流の50dの位置で不安定性のモードがVaricoseモードからSinuousモードに変わるd/hの閾値を発見した.この内容は査読付き国際学会(IUTAM)に採択され,口頭発表の予定である., 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 2017/04 -2019/03, 特別研究員奨励費, 東京理科大学
  • Two-equation and Reynolds-stress models for wall turbulence of viscoelastic fluid

    We investigated drag-reducing turbulent flows of viscoelastic fluids in order to construct a new turbulence model applicable for those flows. We developed several models in frameworks of two-equation eddy-viscosity model and Reynolds-stress model. In addition, we performed relevant direct numerical simulations (DNS) and experiments, where the Giesekus constitutive equation and surfactant solutions were employed, respectively. Through a-priori tests using DNS database, we discussed the modeling for non-linear terms in the constitutive equation and improved the predictive performances of a Reynolds-stress model (RSM) in computing a drag-reducing turbulent flow. In the DNS and experiment, we examined the viscoelastic turbulent flows through complicated geometries, such as a channel with finite plates and a backward-facing step.
