  • パワーレーザーの新パラダイム創成を目指した時空間分割受動コヒーレント結合法の確立

    コヒーレント光であるレーザーの最大の特徴は、パワースケーリングは原理上無限にできることである。光を電界位相まで揃えたコヒーレント結合ができるため、独立の増幅器から出たレーザーを結合できるからである。2018年ノーベル物理学賞を受賞したチャープパルス増幅(CPA)法で可能となったペタワット(PW=10の15乗W)よりも3桁高いエキサワット(EW=10の18乗W)レーザーを実現できる基盤技術を確立するため、ハイパワーレーザーのコヒーレント結合技術を開発する。最も困難な課題は空間波面の整合性であり、時間領域の周波数や位相をいくら整合させても結合はうまくいかない。本研究では、技術的に未開拓な独立の固体レーザー増幅器から出た全てのレーザーが全て同じ光路を伝搬することで受動的に波面が一致する新たなアイデアに挑む。 今年度は、マイケルソン干渉計及びサニャック型干渉計を応用したビームの時間分割・結合器の試作・試験を行い、受動コヒーレント結合効率を分光器によりスペクトル強度・形状とともに評価した。並行して、理論限界の結合効率を得るために、自作の光線追跡コードや3次元波面解析コードによるビーム伝搬特性の数値解析を実施し、実験結果と比較して、実験パラメータにフィードバックした。これらによりフェムト秒極短パルスを制御することなく、位相ずれゼロで受動結合(自動空間波面整合)できる調整手法を確立し、理論限界(位相ずれゼロ)の結合効率を達成した。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 2021/07 -2025/03, 挑戦的研究(開拓), 国立研究開発法人量子科学技術研究開発機構
  • Spectral dynamics of broadband laser pulse using a time stretch dispersive Fourier transform

    We experimentally demonstrate real-time spectral evolution of femtosecond pulse build-up in a homemade passive mode-locked Yb fiber laser with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror using TS-DFT. Capturing 700 consecutive spectra (~ 17 μs time window) in real-time using the time-stretch technique, we are able to resolve the transient dynamics that lead to stable mode-locking. The dynamics on multiple pulses is originated from a fast relaxation time of the saturable absorption effect.   • Development of breath analysis by dual comb spectroscopy with a free running CW semiconductor laser

    We have developed an automatic technique for interpolating a 25 GHz mode spacing in dual EOM comb spectroscopy. The absorption spectra of Hydrogen Cyanide and Acetylene with a resolution of 250 MHz for a full spectral band above 0.8 THz can be measured with a single-shot recording time of 9.3 ms. We also succeeded in identifying the absorption line spectrum of ammonia gas, which is a biomarker for kidney disease by this method. The measurable full spectral bandwidth can be extended simply by adding more electro-optic phase modulators.   • Broadband mid-infrared light source pumped by Yb fiber laser for molecular spectroscopy

    In this study, a broadband, high power mid-infrared (MIR) light source pumped by an Yb fiber laser system for a real time MIR spectroscopy have been investigated. At first, the Yb fiber chirped pulse amplification system having 615mW with pulse duration of 200 fs at 40 MHz repetition rate was developed. Then, the output power of 3W level was obtained by using a double-clad Yb fiber amplifier. Furthermore, an optical parametric amplifier system was constructed to obtain the MID IR pulse. Finally, a time-stretch dispersive Fourier transformation (TS-DFT) as an ultrafast spectrum measurement technique have been successfully demonstrated.   • Generation of broadband femtosecond laser pulse from laser produced plasmas

    Broadband femtosecond laser pulse has been generated by using laser produced plasmas in an ultraviolet and extreme ultraviolet region. Quasi-phase-matching induced enhancement of harmonics has been successfully demonstrated by multiple laser produced plasmas.   • 新型高性能軟X線レーザーの物理と開発実用化の研究

    縦型過渡励起軟X線レーザー生成のための固体ターゲットからの高密度レーザープラズマを非線形媒質に用いる制御高次高調波軟X線レーザーを初めて提案、実証した。イオン化エネルギーの高いマンガンを用いて7.9nm(101次)の制御高調波軟X線を得たが、レーザープラズマからのイオンを用いた高次高調波では世界最高次の最短波長である。レーザー誘起共鳴増幅による特定次数のコヒーレント単一制御高調波軟X線が得られることを世界に先駆けて実証し高出力・高効率化を達成し、その機構を解明した。Inを初め、次々と異常強力単一周波数共鳴増幅を観測した。変換効率は〜10^<-4>と桁違いの大きさであり、1パルス当たり1μJ以上という高エネルギーを得た。全く新しい新スキーム光源であり、励起レーザー波長やチャープ量、強度を精密にコントロールすることによって波長制御や変換効率をさらに上げられることがわかり今後の大きな期待が持てる。金属ナノ粒子クラスターを固体ターゲットに用いると高次での高調波強度がバルクターゲットに較べて6倍もの増強になることも確認した。ダブルターゲット方式による2波長高次高調波同時発生のスキームも確立し、2つのターゲットを並べてプリアイオナイズしておきメインレーザーを打ち込むとそれぞれのターゲットに特性的なスペクトルが加算され特性的な2波長で同時に高調波の発生が実証され分光用光源として大いに期待が高まった。 さらに半導体を含む種々の試料上に生成されるナノ構造が波長の数分の一以下になりうることや励起波長によってもナノ構造が劇的に変わることを発見するなど軟X線の応用の知見を得た。医学グループと連携してシグナル伝達の極微量計測システムにより蛍光共鳴エネルギー転移現象によるタンパク間のリガンド活性による構造変化をピコ秒スケールで時間発展観測をおこなった。 このようにコヒーレント軟X線光源を有効利用・測定する手法等を開発し新展開を目指し水の窓領域への挑戦を続けている。, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Creative Scientific Research, 2002 -2007, Grant-in-Aid for Creative Scientific Research, The University of Tokyo
