  • V2X Network and Database Platform for Cooperative Automated Driving

    本研究では,情報共有や走行調停を行う協調型自動運転を実現するため,ネットワーク仮想化技術により直接通信(DSRCやPC5)のアドホックネットワークと携帯電話基地局(Uu)経由のモバイルネットワークを効率的に併用し,各車両のセンサ情報をストリーム技術で処理することで接続台数が増加した場合のスケーラビリティを向上させ,また,クラウドのみではなくモバイルエッジコンピューティングを利用してダイナミックマップを分散処理することで,信頼性向上と低遅延を実現可能にすることである. 日本ではまだ一般に認可されていな5.9GHz帯のセルラーV2Xの通信方式であるが,研究代表者が主査と務める総務省のプロジェクト(5.9GHz帯へのセルラーV2X方式によるV2Xシステムの導入に係る技術的検討)において,NTTドコモ協力のもとで特別に利用を許可された柏の葉スマートシティ「イノベーションキャンパス地区」内の135街区の実験場において,セルラーV2Xの直接通信と一般的な携帯電話網を併用したネットワークシステムを構築し,自動運転車両走行に関する実証実験を実施した. また,本研究において研究してきた成果の一部であるネットワークシステムのアーキテクチャは,経済産業省・国土交通省が連携し自動運転レベル4等の先進モビリティサービスの実現・普及に向けてた新たなプロジェクト「自動運転レベル4等先進モビリティサービス研究開発・社会実装プロジェクト(RoAD to the L4)」において利用され,特定のエリアにおいて実証実験を実施した. 協調型自動運転に向けたエッジサーバ利用によるダイナミックマップシステムの開発で研究代表者指導の学生である細野航平が自動車技術会大学院研究奨励賞も受賞した., Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, 2020/04 -2024/03, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (A), Doshisha University
  • Dynamic Scheduling Using the Mixture of Experiential Intelligence and Emergent Technology, and its Performance Verification Using a MES Model

    1.A robust real-time scheduling rule for dynamic job shop has developed using a neural network. The neural network is trained efficiently by two training stages. In the first stage, the solution space is divided into several spaces and multiple networks are trained separately using a simulated annealing. In the second stage, those multiple networks are integrated into a network using a back-propagation algorithm. The trained neural network has proved to be very effective and robust by the numerical experiments. 2.Dynamic scheduling method using the mixture of a genetic algorithm and a priority rules has been proposed. In real-world dynamic scheduling environments, it is very difficult to search optimal schedules in real-time. The proposed method can effectively search good schedules based on the priority rule having high performance in dynamic environments. The method can also tune the weight between the priority rule and the genetic algorithm. 3.In the scheduling method described in (2), it was found that the priority rule plays a very important role. The dynamic scheduling method can have high performance by using the characteristics of the good priority rules that make schedules having appropriate due-date allowances. Bi-criteria scheduling for meeting due-dates and minimizing setup times can also be efficiently generated by changing the characteristics of the priority rule. 4.A MES (Manufacturing Execution System) has developed for the verification of the dynamic scheduling method. The system consists of a production system and a transportation system. The production system consists of multiple computers that can communicate through network, and emulates the parts flow in a factory. The transportation system consists of a host computer and multiple AGVs that can process the transport requests generated by the production system.     (1) A manufacturing execution prototype has been developed study the system configuration, management strategies and so on for the agile manufacturing system which has the ability to quickly adapt to unpredictable changes. It consists of a manufacturing process system and a transportation system. (2) A high performance real-time scheduling method was proposed in order that each machine autonomously makes the decision about the job to be processed on it. A three-layered neural network is used for the decision-making based on the information about the status of shop-floor collected through the local area network. (3) A transportation management system has been developed so that multiple AGVs efficiently perform the transportation requests continually arising in the manufacturing system. The proposed system makes the AGVs possible to select the optimal routing without colliding with each other and to autonomously cope with disruptions such as the failure of the AGV and any obstacles being on their way. (4) A prototype of the manufacturing execution system has been proposed by integrating the hardware and the software of the manufacturing process system and the transportation system developed in this study.     The aim of this study is to develop highly advanced manufacturing systems by integrating production system technologies of Japan and United Kingdom. Some Japanese companies have extended their business to United Kingdom with Japanese production technique which is in the highest level in the world. Therefore penetration of the highly developed manufacturing system into other country and its effects on the country or its point at issue can be clarified by doing the research on the companies extended from Japan. The research was carried out as a cooperative study between Hiroshima University and Nottingham University in U.K., and the production system in the following companies or factories were studied by hearing or questionnaire : a.Japanese companies that have factories in U.K. b.U.K.factories extended from Japan. c.The traditional U.K.companies. d.The Japanese company that makes the products which are also made in traditional U.K.company Following are the results obtained : 1.The companies examined does not recognize their production systems as CIM systems 2.Japanese companies have more affirmative attitude for automation than companies in U.K. 3.The negative attitude of the companies in U.K.comes from their cheaper labor cost. 4.In U.K., danger work or hard work in an unfavorable environment is considered to be the main object of an automation, while in Japan, decreasing of laborer is considered to be the main reason of an automation. 5.The companies examined forward computerization for each department, while they have negative view for integration. 6.The companies examined do not think that productivity is pushed on by automation., Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, 1994 -1996, Grant-in-Aid for international Scientific Research, Hiroshima University
  • Automatic Guidance System Development of Automobile on Highway by Optical Laser

    1) For highway automation, we developed a new automatic position finding, automatic guidance and car-to-car two way communication system by using laser and corner-cube, and our results are reported local and international conferences and also on proceedings paper. 2) Our experimental system is good for accurate and quick position findings, and also free from optical, acoustic and electromagnetic interference noise. 3) Improved experimental system is demonstrated for position and heading measurement on the road under the speed of 100km/H. 4) Guidance and steering mechanisms are fixed on our experimentally improved automobile and automatic guidance experiments are demonstrated in university campus. 5) For automatic following-up control of plural automobile, optical range measurement and optical two-way communication systems are proposed and discussed and experimentally developed using laser beam and corner-cube by only single laser source. 6) Our highest modulation frequency is achieved up to 370kHzby attenuated total reflection of corner-cube prism. 7) Automatic highway passing and lane changing control systems using laser beam scanner are proposed and discussed. 8) These above mentioned results are highly evaluated by international and local professional members on uniqueness in principle and simple in mechanization and also free from interference noise., Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, 1993 -1995, Grant-in-Aid for Developmental Scientific Research (B)
  • Integrated Modular Decision Support System in Flexible Manufacturing

    In this study, an architecture of the decision-making to be made in the design and production stages in CIM(computer Integrated Manufacturing) is investigated to flexibly adapt to the demand variation in the fluctuating market. Then, a concept of the distributed cooperative decision support system is proposed as the desirable one and the realizing method is developed. The principal results obtained in this research are as follows: 1. A basic idea is proposed to construct the organization of engineers cooperating based on the concept of concurrent engineering in which the distributed decision-making may be performed. To realize the proposed idea, a method is developed to divide the tasks to be performed into some appropriate scale groups in which the engineers can cooperate one another. 2. An architecture of information processing in the decision-making is investigated to integrate and concurrently process the product design tasks/modeling activity and the model-applying-tasks in the product design phase. A prototype of the decision support system based on the proposed architecture is developed by applying the object oriented method. 3. The modular structure of the decision-making is analyzed in the flexible manufacturing area and the relationships among the modules are made clear. For some typical modules such as the production resource planning, the production line planning and the tool allocation planning, the decision-making processes are investigated and their prototypes are developed. This study gives a kind of basic technology for developing the concurrent engineering which is required as the key-technology in the flexible manufacturing area in future.   • Research on Tendon Control System for Flexible Space Structures

    1. Studies on the Design of Tendon Control System (1) Output Feedback Control (Low-Authority Control; LAC): A useful method is developed for determining the optimum output feedback gains and moment-arm location for the design of tendon control system for large flexible space structures. The proposed method employs a nonlinear programming technigue to optimize the design parameters so that the closed-loop poles may be placed in the complex plane as close to the desired pole locations as possible. (2) Modal Control by State Feedbacks (High-Authority Control; HAC): Investigated are two design approaches which provide the designed controller with stability robustness and avoid instability due to mode truncation errors (spillovers). One is (a) LAC/HAC design method and the other is (b) the Loop Transfer Recovery (LTR) approach. The effectiveness of the former method is verified by numerical simulations. 2. Laboratory Experiment of Tendon Control System for a Flexible Beam The prototype tendon control system has been built for a flexible beam control experiment in the laboratory. It consists of a pair of moment arms mounted on the beam, an electrodynamic force actuator and a rotating link at the beam root, and tensile cables (tendons) connecting the link with the moment arms. The hardware experiment has been done successfully, which shows the fundamental feasibility of the tendon control system for the active vibration control of highly flexible structures. (1) Modeling and Identification of the Dynamics of the Experimental Tendon Control System: A mathe-matical model of the coupled beam/tendon system dynamics has been constructed with a finite element method(GEM). Included in the modeling are the contributions of gravitational force, axial static load generated by the tension cables, and proportional dampings. The tendon actuator is modeled as an added one-degree-of -freedom vibrating system. The unknown parameters in the FEM model are determined from the measured responses. The result shows satisfying agreement between the theory and the experiment. (2) Direct Velocity Feedback Control Experiment: Velocity feedback control scheme has been applied to the developed tendon control system. Either of the angular velocity of the moment arms or that of the rotating link was fedback to the electrodynamic actuator. The former system caused a closed-loop in-stability due to the dynamics of the tendon actuator, whereas the latter showed a stable control and ef-fective vibration damping.
