Researcher Profile and Settings

    Profile

    フェミニズムに基づきヴァージニア・ウルフと女性作家の作品を研究することから、アジア系アメリカ文学(移民文学を中心に)、ハワイにおけるローカル文学とローカル劇(ハワイカナカ先住民族と移民文学を中心に)、カズオ・イシグロ研究、世界文学(World Literature、移民、難民、避難民、被災民、ディアスポラの文学を中心に)へと研究分野を広げています。それは、歴史を通して世界中の各地域や各民族が、難民、移民、政治的避難、自然災害による被災、逃亡、離散を体験してきたことによります。現在は、世界文学とLife-Writingの観点から21世紀の英語圏文学とアジア圏文学の融合、人種、民族、ジェンダーが多様化している現代イギリス詩人に関する研究などを行っています。また、現代文学の世界文学の中では特に、ポストコロニアル理論に基づいて、アフリカ系ディアスポラとアジア系ディアスポラに関してその体系を構築することを行い、その中で特に16世紀から21世紀にかけて構築された歴史を再構築する現代文学の多様性を考察しています。それらの文学研究に加えて、イギリス湖水地方の歴史、風土、文化、文学、女性に関する研究にも取り組んでいます。

    Research Projects

    • Encounter with Memory in World Literature: Blending of Anglophne and Asian Literatures

      英語圏における多様性がある作家や表現者に関するリサーチは進んでおり、世界的に分断に直面している現代において、この研究が非常に重要であることが再認識した。特に植民地時代からポストコロニアル時代において、政治、経済、宗教など様々な点でジェノサイドが繰り返されており、現代に生きる作家たちが多角的視点から現代の世界観を表現していることが顕著である。 しかし、コロナ禍において予定していた国際学会での発表と海外におけるリサーチはできなかったことにより、リサーチは主に現在の状況で入手できる文献の収集に限っている。 国際学会における発表や国際学会誌に論文出版はできなかったが、日本において書籍を二冊出版した。一冊は、『ふだん着のオックスフォード』で、ポストコロニアル視点からオックスフォードの街がもつ歴史的及び文化的特徴を論じた。また、『イギリス湖水地方アンブルサイドの女神たち』では、湖水地方の小さな町アンブルサイドに19世紀から20世紀にかけて集った女性たちー作家、芸術家、教育者、国際派改革者ーの人生と業績を紹介した。 また、リサーチに関しては、イギリス湖水地方のモアカム湾における歴史的変遷をリサーチして、出版に向けての原稿を完成させることができた。また、英語圏における多様性の一つで、現在に至るまで研究が進んでいない分野である、イギリスにおけるBLMに焦点を当てて、現代イギリス社会におけるブラック・ブリティッシュの在り方、またその歴史的バックグラウンドの多様性、そして表現の多様性に関してリサーチを行い、出版に向けての原稿を完成させることができた。, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research Fundamental Research (C), 2019/04 -2024/03, Principal investigator, Competitive research funding, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), Doshisha University
