    • 近代日本における国民国家論の始発と終焉――井上哲次郎関係書簡の分析を通じて

      2022年度は、国際日本文化研究センターの所蔵する井上哲次郎宛書簡140点について、小倉慈司（国立歴史民俗博物館）と熊本史雄（駒澤大学）を中心に史料整理および翻刻作業をおおむね完成させた。 次に、国民国家論に関する理論的な先行研究の整理と検討のために、年間４回の研究会を日文研で開催した。研究会では、苅田真司（國學院大学）が「磯前論文以後の井上哲次郎研究」、関口寛（同志社大学）が「井上哲次郎研究の動向と統治/生政治論的アプローチ」、全成坤（翰林大学）が「韓国における井上哲次郎研究と新しい井上哲次郎論の試み」と題する研究発表等を行い、国民国家論および井上研究の現状と課題を整理した。また、上村静（尚絅学院大学）と大村一真（同志社大学）を中心に、井上の主著である『国民道徳概論』を精読し、キリスト教思想や国民国家論の視点から井上思想の再解釈を行った。 また研究会では、本研究が前提とする2019～21年度基盤研究（A）「人権と差別をめぐる比較宗教史」（研究代表者：磯前）の研究成果『差別の構造と国民国家』（法蔵館：2021年）の合評会を、国民国家と差別の関係の視点から小田龍哉（同志社大学）と村島健司（日文研）の研究発表を中心に、実施した。 一方、研究成果の国外発信および東アジアを中心とする研究者とのネットワーク形成のために、第6回東アジア日本研究者協議会国際学術大会（北京外語大学、オンライン開催）に参加し、パネル「ポスト・ポストコロニアル」において、磯前が総評を行った。また、3月には韓国を訪問し、ソウル大学にて磯前が東日本大震災以降の福島の現状から見た国民国家を論じた「フクシマ第一原発周辺で、翻訳不能なものの声を聴く」、漢陽大学にて苅田が戦後の日本の民主主義をめぐる学術概念を批判した検討した「現代日本の民主主義」、大村が「戦後日本のマルクス主義」と題する研究発表をそれぞれ行った。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 2022/04 -2025/03, 基盤研究(B), 国際日本文化研究センター

    • Bio-politics in inclusion/exclusion of minorities : Historical sociology on Buraku improvement and reconciliation policy

      2020年度は、5月31日(日)、6月27日(土)、7月26日(日)、8月30日(日)、9月27日(日) 、10月25日(日)、11月29日(日) 、12月27日(日)、1月24日(日)、2月28日(日)、3月28日(日)の合計9回の研究会を開催した。 また7月20日（月）～7月22日（水）の3日間、本研究会の野口と関口が北海道家庭学校に赴き、20世紀初頭に部落改善政策を立案・指導した留岡幸助（1864～1934年）の関係資料を調査した。その際、『留岡幸助日記』全5巻（矯正協会、1979年）を編むために作成された浄書原稿をデジタル撮影した。今回の調査で、一昨年度から続けてきた当該資料の撮影を終了した。 研究会では、参加者が分担して「留岡幸助日記・手帳」（全321冊）を毎回1冊ずつ解析して目次を作成し、それぞれが報告する形式で研究会を開催した。その際、上記の調査で撮影した「留岡日記・手帳」浄書原稿（約2万コマ）を活用することで、共同作業の効率化を図った。これにより、今年度はNo.190（1912年）からNo.275（1924年）の解析を終えた。 以上の共同研究により、留岡幸助が各地を視察・講演した際の日記・記録を分析し終えた。また内務省内で様々な社会事業が構想されるなかで課題として部落問題が浮上してくる背景について、活発な議論が交わされた。その他、1922年に全国水平社が創立された後、内務省内で作成された運動関係者にかんする調査資料など、新たな発見がもたらされた。 次年度も上述の形式の共同研究を進め、「留岡日記・手帳」の後半の解読を終え、その後の共同研究の進め方について計画を立てることにしている。, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), 2018/04 -2022/03, Coinvestigator, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), Kyoto Human Rights Research Institute
    • 被差別部落からのアメリカ移民に関するトランスナショナルな歴史経験についての研究

      研究代表者の廣岡は、朝治武、黒川みどり、内田龍史共編著『講座 近現代日本の部落問題』第1巻『近代の部落問題』に、「越境する人の移動と被差別部落」を執筆した。これは、近代初頭からの部落からの移民送出やあるいは移民論を概観した上で、ハワイを含むアメリカ移民について新聞史料や第二次世界大戦下の日系人強制収容にかかわる調査記録等から日系移民における部落差別を明らかにし、さらにWRA（戦時転住局）の調査関係者が部落差別に強い関心を示していたこと、これが戦後の日本国憲法制定にあたってのGHQ草案につながる可能性を論じたもので、2019年の渡航調査における研究交流の成果を活かしつつ両分担者の研究成果を発展させたと言える。 さらに、廣岡と研究分担者の友常は、サンフランシスコ州立大学エスニックスタディズ学部アジア系アメリカ人研究学科において運営されているエジソン・ウノ記念ウチナンチュおよび日系研究所を中心に組織された日米の国際シンポジウムの企画立案の段階から参画し、セッション「Buraku Immigrants Studies」（部落出身移民研究）を担当するとともに、3日間にわたった企画の討論などに参加した。なお、このシンポジウムでは、廣岡が所属している大阪市立大学人権問題研究センター（エスニックスタディズ学部とは長年の交流協定を有し、これを基礎に当年度から大学間協定が締結された）と友常の科研費研究とが共催に入り、経費を分担した。 また、廣岡は並行して、本研究の発表環境に関わる基礎的研究として、部落解放論研究会での報告をもとにした論考「古地図と地名について: 情報化と部落史研究の課題」を論集『続・部落解放論の最前線』に執筆し、また大学教育の視点から部落差別解消推進法施行後の情況に批判的考察を加えた論考を月刊誌『部落解放』の特集「部落問題学習の歴史と現状」（高田一宏責任編集）に寄せた。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業 基盤研究(C), 2018/04 -2022/03, Coinvestigator, 基盤研究(C), 大阪市立大学
    • Development of governing order for the people based on scientific racism in modern Japan : Turn and re-contextualization in Buraku Issues

      This study clarified that scientific racism, which had a widespread and strong influence in Europe and the United States in the first half of the 20th century, had a profound shadow on Japan, taking up the case of Buraku issues in Japan. As specific examples, we took up the understanding of Sadakichi Kida, who is known as a pioneer of Buraku history research, and social improvement policies such as the Kankakyusai policy started by the Ministry of Interior.     • A historical study of thoughts on the transnational interaction of modern social movements

      The first part of the achievement of this research is that it is pointed out that the phenomenon of development of social movements in every place of the world is the result of the interaction of ideas and movements across the borders based on the concrete examples from the 19th century to the present. The compilation of this result is the work "Global History of Social Movement" (Minerva Publishing, 2018) .     • A Historical Study about Hyeongpyeong Movement in Korea under Japanese rule

      The Joseon Hyeongpyeongsa was formed in 1923, eliminating discrimination against a disadvantaged group in Korea, the Baekjeong. While they changed its name to the Daedonsa in 1935 and ceased its activities in the 1940s, this research covers the period as “Hyeongpyeong Movement”, organized Japanese and Korean scholars. We published The Historical Materials on the Korean Hyeongpyeong Movement, including the documents filed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Keijo District Court.     • Studies on the Buraku People in Japan at the turn of the 20th century

      As what kind of existence were the Buraku People understood in the academicism of Japan of the dawn? In this study, the auther took up studies on the Buraku People of Ryuzo Torii, an anthropologist, Kunio Yanagida, a folklorist, Sadakichi Kida , a historian,and others. Moreover, what kind of relation were there between their studies and the theory of Japanese People? As a result of the research, it became clear that they understood the Buraku People the descendant of the peripheral ethnic group which constitutes Japanese People.       This study shows the new perspective to the history of Buraku liberation movement in pre-war and middle-war time, paying attention to Burakumin identity which the social movements created. Conventionally, Suihei movement and Yuwa movement are understood by the basis of confrontational relation nature. However, this study clarified the following thing. The common understanding about Buraku problem was materialized among both in the 1930s. It became the keynote of the social reconstruction theory and both tied up.
