Facility location problem based on total evaluation method and its application

As criteria of facility location, various mathematical evaluation methods are created in order that suitable sites to facility construction are determined. For that purpose, that is, creation of mathematical evaluation to facility location, viewpoints of both user and constructer are taken into accounts. Further ambiguity of criteria and uncertainty about construction cost & existence of barrier are also considered in our facility location models. These are general models to construct various types of facilities including possibility as a multi-facility. Anyway we tried to propose useful information to construction side by introducing idea of non-dominated sides.

Studies on Facility Location Problem Based on Various Informationsand Its Application to Urban Planning

Basically we have studied emergency facility location problem. Barriers, A-distance, Preference of the possible site, different accident occurrence probabilities etc. are considered and taking them into account we construct more realistic models are constructed. For these models we have proposed efficient solution procedures. Further we have extended the model toward one with the given facility and obtained a solution procedure. We have constructed the combined model with mathematical evaluation method useful to the decision rule choosing the suitable one among thenon-dominated solutions of these multi-criteria models. These results from this study arepublished or to be published in SCI journals and we think the result is good enough as a mathematical approach to the facility location problem. Therefore we think that our purpose to study the facility location problem based on various informations is done. 障害物を考慮するとともに、距離として、非対称A 距離を用い、配置候補地の望ましさ、さらに既存の施設の存在を仮定したモデルを設定して、効率的な解法を作り出すことができた。これは実際の都市計画に近いモデルであり、計画担当者の助けとなる。さらに現在だけではなく、将来にわたる状況を考慮したモデルや、地理情報システムを応用したGISモデルも考えており、この点も計画に寄与するものである。この点について、国際共同研究の台湾での責任者の成功大学都市計画系葉光毅教授にも意見を聞いたところ、まだ問題が少し残っているが、十分に実際の都市計画に資するものとコメントを頂いている。SCI Journalにも成果を発表しており、数理的方法としてはかなりの成果が得られている, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, 2007 -2008, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), Osaka University

Theoretical progress on Optimal allocation is done.
1.Especially application to urban Planning is promising from our research about facility location problem and that about transportation problem. Our research not only from resident side but from construction is very useful and it may be original (Preference Function of the facility site).
2.Optimal allocation on Policy and Production is done from theoretical and practical view points. Especially research from a customer side is done (mass customerization, points from choosing side)
3.Environmental analysis and Portfolio Problem are considered inour research on optimal allocation) Especially, efficient algorithms under uncertainty and ambiguity situation using scenario analysis, and efficient solution methods on nonlinear problem arising from fuzzy analysis.

Optical-molecular cooperative computing based on parallel optical trapping technique

This study is aimed at developing optical-molecular cooperative computing techniques, which are based on manipulation of a group of molecules with optical field distributions. The major research targets include devising an effective computing algorithm, establishing a method for manipulating DNA molecules that are attached to microscopic beads by parallel optical trapping, developing a photonic method for DNA reactions within a local space, and demonstrating the usability of these photonic techniques in DNA memory.
The result of numerical calculations concerning information density, processing time, and data-transferring rate explains fundamental characteristics of an information system based on optical -molecular cooperative computing. We have created an efficient algorithm for discrete quadratic programming via mathematical analyses and computation with DNA.
The parallel optical trapping technique using VCSEL array sources were used for handling the position of groups of DNA molecules attached to a bead (a DNA cluster). Experimental results demonstrate that the method is applicable in transferring DNA clusters in parallel by sequential switching of emitting sources without any mechanical movement, and in stacking five DNA clusters. In addition, a photonic method was developed for DNA reactions ; the method utilizes local change of the temperature in a DNA solution induced by photo-thermal conversion. An important achievement is that hybridization and denaturation of DNA on a bead or a substrate are successfully controlled by irradiating with a focused laser beam. The minimum reaction width was measured as 5 micrometer.
We proposed photonic DNA memory, in which a system containing hairpin DNA is used and operated by photonic techniques. Experimental results demonstrate that, for example repeating operations of attachment and detachment of data DNA on a bead is possible by appropriate temporal modulation of the power of the irradiation beam. Studies on Approximation Algorithm for Multi-objective Discrete Optimization Problems

In our research we studied multi-objective discrete optimization which include multi-objective scheduling problems, network design problems and multi-objective facility location problems and so on as well as we advanced approximation methods for the optimization. Moreover we studied fuzzy differential equations and fuzzy optimization problems for foundation of the optimization by applying the methods of nonlinear functional analysis. In analyzing multi-objective scheduling problems not only we introduced a new model of scheduling problems with fuzziness and adaptability but also we schemed an algorithm for non-dominated solutions and some algorithms based on the beam-search method by developing calculation of a new lower bound. Numerical experiment illustrates utility of our algorithms to multi-objective flow shop problems. Moreover we gave theoretical results on multi-objective scheduling problems concerning parallel and multi-functional machines. In studying multi-objective network optimization problems we considered the total reliability of stochastic network problems. There are two characteristics. One is to give a utilized method for effective lower bounds of the total reliability and a fruitful solution-method of two-objective optimization with maximizing the total reliability and minimizing costs of construction of networks. We got results on optimal design of tele-communication networks, which can be applicable in many fields of network problems. In facility location analysis we investigated competitive problems and obtained practical optimal solutions with considering situations between firms and residents. Research on Value of Information to Combinatorial Optimization

This research is to investigate value of information to combinatorial optimization. The aim of this research is to clarify the effects of random and fuzzy factors in the combinatorial optimization models. Especially the solutions are changed according to the existence of uncertainty and/or ambiguity. First we considered linear programming problems under both random and fuzzy factors. Based on the results on so called these fuzzy random linear programming problems, we considered scheduling problems with fuzzy data and fuzzy constraint, spanning tree problems with fuzzy random edge costs, knapsack problem with fuzzy and random coefficients and facility location problem with fuzzy distance and fuzzy goal. In order to find the difference between the solution of ordinary problem and that of fuzzy random version, we introduced fuzzy random variables to above problems of combinatorial optimization and proposed efficient algorithms for solving their deterministic equivalent problems. We obtained some results on solutions of these problems. 反復法による非線形方程式の数値解法の研究

1.1変数の非線形方程式に対し、同時反復数値解法の収束特性を解析するのに関して、整備したいくつかのプログラムと既存ライブラリのなかのプログラムとの計算比較実験を行った。中心としたのは、多重度評価をともなうプログラムの、より広範な適用範囲を検討することである。そしてベンチマークとなるテスト問題をシミュレーションしている。
2.たとえば、積分変換が数値積分の一範囲として手軽に取り扱えるような、幅の広い応用を目指して、特殊関数の計算法を取り扱った。パラメーターの値の組み合わせで数種の典型的な特殊関数に帰着できる合流型超幾何関数に着目し、三項漸化式の数値計算法を応用して、要求精度いっぱいに安定に計算できることをする事を確かめた。微分方程式、積分方程式等への応用についてはまだ継続中である。
3.バナッハ空間での線形発展方程式の解の指数減衰を証明した。統一的枠組みの中であつかうため、実際の偏微分方程式を適当な関数空間で定式化することにより、時間変数の準線形部分方程式とする。そして定常解まわりに線形化するときに出てくる線形係数作用素のスペクトルの分布条件から、解の漸近的指数減衰をしめした。実際に解を計算する反復解法は高速化と煩雑性の兼ね合いから、まだ試みの段階である。
4.時間遅れをともなう方物型の微分積分方程式の解につての解析を行った。連続な解の存在と一意性を証明し、時間遅れをhとした時、その整数倍のところに初期値をとれば解は不連続となることを例をもってしめした。
5.ポアソン方程式の観測データとして与えられる解をもとにして、未知である外力項を推定する問題に対し、信頼性の高い決定的な評価法を提案、そのシミュレーションを行った。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 1996 -1996, 基盤研究(C), 大阪大学
準線形放物型方程式の線形化安定性について

準線形放物型編微分方程式の安定性を調べる問題を,適当な関数空間における時間変数についての準線形常微分方程式の安定性を調べる問題と定式化し,次にこの常微分方程式に定常解が存在したとしてそのまわりで方程式を線形化してそれに放物型抽象方程式の理論を適用することにより定常解の漸近安定性結果を示した.すなわち,関数空間において解析半群の生成作用素A(u)を係数作用素とし,u=u(t)を未知関数とする準線形常微分方程式du/dt+Au(u)u=f(u),00,をみたせば線形化方程式の基本解V(t,s),0【less than or equal】s【less than or equal】t<∞,は指数関数を用いて評価できることを示した.さらに,公式v(t)=V(t,0)v_0+∫_0^tV(t,s)g(s)dsを用いてu_0の近傍からでる解はすべて時間t→∞と共にu_0に漸近することを示した,併せてその差は時間と共に指数関数的に減衰することも示した.本研究の以上の成果により,準線形放物型方程式に対する定常解の安定性問題はその定常解の線形化作用素がスペクトル条件をみたすかどうかを調べる問題に帰着されることが一般的な枠組みの中で示されたことになる.
本研究結果の応用に際しては,具体的な方程式に対してスペクトル条件がいつ成り立つかを調べる問題が生ずる.これを確かめるための一般的な判定条件は,本研究では得ることができなかった.そこで,いくつかの例について数値的にこれを確かめる試みを行い計算データを集めた.このデータから,便利な判定条件を探すのが今後の課題である., 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 1995 -1995, 一般研究(C), 大阪大学

Stability therorems obtained in articles by Murakami-Yamamoto [3] [13], Wada-Yamamoto [4] [11], Saito-Yamamoto [6] [10], and Ohe-yamamoto [7] [15] are extensitions of many results.
Oscillation theorems for second order nonlinear differential equations by Nagabuchi-Yamamoto [2] are extensions of those obtained by yan in 1986.
On the existence of periodic solutions of nonlinear systems are considered in Saito-Yamamoto [5] and Sugie-Yamamoto [14] and had new results.
Uniqueness theorems of periodic solutions of Lineard equations are proved in Hirano-Yamamoto [1] [12].
Existence theorems of solutions for quasilinear systems are proved in Saito-Yamamoto [8] [9].
Continuous dependence of periodic solutions for periodic systems are discussed in Saito-Yamamoto [16] and obtained extensions of the theorems due to Cronin, Hale and Mawhin respectively.
All results above are extensions of those obtained by many authors.
