      本研究では、特に高齢者とのコミュニケーションを想定して、対話を継続するためのメカニズムの解明と実現を目指している。相槌・頷き・表情などのモダリティを活用したり、複数の人間・ロボットで会話の場を形成することで、対話を維持することを考える。 京都大学の河原と井上は、これまで研究開発してきた傾聴対話システムを多人数に展開した。これは、共想法のように、多人数で順番に話をするのを傾聴する場を想定するものであるが、他の人間の聞き手に参与を促進する発話の生成を検討した。具体的には、感情分析の極性値に応じて、評価応答を生成する際に、別の聞き手の方に向けて、「いいですよね。」といった同意を求める。その聞き手が同様の反応を示すことで、会話の場として共感が醸成されることが期待される。また、話し手が話すことがなくなり沈黙した場合に、「さきほど、**の話題がありましたが、何か質問はありますか」といった問いかけを別の聞き手にすることで、会話が継続することが期待される。このような多人数傾聴を行うシステムを実装し、動作確認と予備的評価を行った。 大阪大学の吉川と筑波大学の飯尾は、複数のロボットによる対話において、質問事項を構造化した上で、各ロボットに分担させて質問を伴う話者交代をさせることによって、被傾聴感が高まる複数ロボット連携対話に取り組んだ。具体的には、話題毎にいくつかの質問を行いながら、別のロボットにより話題の切り替えを行うものである。このシステムにおいて、河原と井上らによって開発された傾聴機構も統合した。 2021年1月に、ららぽーとEXPOCITY内で実証実験を実施した。その結果、3体のロボットによるシステムの方が、1体および2体のシステムに比べて、対話継続時間が長い傾向となることを確認した。, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas (Research in a proposed research area), 2019/06 -2024/03, Competitive research funding, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas (Research in a proposed research area), Kyoto University

    • Information providing by multiple robots for evoking human interest

      In this study, we conducted basic research on Passive/Interactive Social Media, in which multiple robots express their sociality and provide information indirectly or in a group interactive manner, and verified the effectiveness of a robot system that applies this concept to various situations. First, we established the calibration technology of multiple distance sensors for tracking passers-by and the technology for recognizing the attention points of passers-by, which are the basic technologies of this concept. In order to enhance the sense of interaction in situations where speech recognition is difficult, we have studied the characteristics of the phenomenon of entrainment in multi-participant conversations.     • Improving object reference recognition through human-robot alignment

      When referring to an object, a person sometimes use a reference with insufficient information for specifying the object. Such ambiguous references decrease a performance of object reference recognition. In this research, I developed an algorithm of robot's confirmation behaviors to entrain humans to use enough information in their references based on human-robot alignment, which is a phenomenon that human behaviors are elicited to robot behavior, and implemented the algorithm into the object reference recognition system.     • Object reference recognition utilizing entrainment in human-robot interaction

      This research investigated how a robot elicited references to an object which is unambiguous and recognizable for the robot from humans in object reference conversation. The results revealed that humans tended to use same terms or same categories of terms in their references as the robot used in its confirmations. Based on the results, I developed the generating algorithm of confirmation behaviors of robots to entrain humans to use unambiguous terms.
