    • アスリートの優れた視覚情報処理機能を支える神経基盤の解明
      上林 清孝
      オープンスキル系スポーツにおける優れた運動パフォーマンスには素早い正確な状況判断が不可欠で、視覚から得られた情報を知覚・認知し、状況に応じた運動指令を瞬時に筋へ伝えることが求められる。この研究では、球技スポーツのシーンに類似した動的な視覚情報処理課題である3次元複数対象追跡(multiple object tracking: MOT)課題からアスリートの視覚情報処理能力を評価するとともに、情報処理能力に優れたアスリートでは安静時の脳領域間の機能結合や灰白質量に特徴がみられるのか磁気共鳴画像法(magnetic resonance imaging: MRI)を用いて調べ、視覚情報処理の能力差をもたらす神経基盤を明らかにすることを目的としている。さらに、経頭蓋直流刺激(transcranial direct current stimulation: tDCS)によって大脳皮質の興奮性を修飾することで課題成績に変化が生じるか調べる計画としている。 これまでの研究からMRIの3次元T1強調画像におけるvoxel-based morphometry(VBM)解析により、低次の視覚関連領域の灰白質容積とMOTの課題成績に有意な正の相関が認められた。そのため、その大脳皮質領域に対し、tDCSによる20分間の陽極刺激または陰極刺激を与え、刺激前後のMOT課題成績を比較した。その結果、陰極刺激の場合では追跡対象物の移動速度が速い条件で課題成績の向上がみられた。一方、陽極刺激や疑似刺激の条件では課題成績の変化はみられなかった。これらの結果から、大脳皮質に対する非侵襲的な刺激によって低次視覚野の興奮性を下げることにより、即時的に視覚情報処理能力を高められる可能性が示された。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 2019/04 -2023/03, 基盤研究(C), 同志社大学
    • Research of the integrative adjustment on metabolism to support ability for locomotion and run in human.

      The integrated respiratory, circulatory, and muscular regulatory systems involved in walking were examined using the sinusoidal walking pattern, and the following findings were obtained: 1) When body weight was reduced using body wright support, energy metabolism decreased, but increased respiration and leg muscle activity were observed, and a linkage between respiration and muscle activity was found. 2) Comparing running exercise and mixed walking/running exercise, metabolic response and muscle activity response diverged in complete running exercise.     • Elucidation of the causes of muscle weakness due to weightlessness and aging and development of preventive equipment

      Skeletal muscle can prevent bone atrophy simply by maintaining skeletal muscle mass. Furthermore, it can be expected to prevent degenerative changes in various biological functions such as age-related muscle weakness (sarcopenia). Using a wearable gait analysis system, we examined the activity of the lower limb antigravity muscles in closer detail from the perspective of biomedical engineering and kinematics. From the information gathered in these examinations, we develop a “load-controlled treadmill” that can apply effective stimulation and stress to lower limb antigravity muscles, such as the soleus, by making the user proactively move the ankles in order to move the walking surface.     • Effects of non-invasive electrical stimulation on excitability of neurons during walking

    • Effects of brain activity on the reflex excitability during conditioning tasks in which the spinal reflex would be facilitated or inhibited voluntarily

      The purpose of this study was to investigate changes of the Hoffmann reflex (H-reflex) excitability in the soleus and tibialis anterior muscles during a task in which subjects tried to facilitate or inhibit the H-reflex excitability voluntarily. In addition, the effect of cortical excitability on the changes of H-reflex excitability was investigated by using transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). The changes of the H-reflex excitability in the soleus muscle were observed in response to the given instruction of facilitation or inhibition.     • Sensorimotor adaptation induced by robotic assistant during walking: toward recovery of walking function

      The purpose of this study was to investigate adaptive changes in the lower limb movement and electromyographic (EMG) activities of the lower limb muscles following robot-assisted walking in healthy subjects and patients with locomotor disorder.Electrophysiological techniques were also used to investigate short-term adaptation in the neural pathways before and after the robot-assisted walking. The walking pattern and EMG activities of the lower limb muscles differed between normal walking and robot-assisted walking in healthy subjects and patients with locomotor disorder.     • Short-term adaptation elicited by robotic assistant to unilateral leg during locomotion : toward gait recovery for hemiplegic patients

      The purpose of this research was to investigate changes of human walking pattern after walking support to unilateral leg by a robotic gait orthosis. After video recording of normal walking pattern on a treadmill for a baseline measurement, the robotic assistant to the unilateral leg was provided for ten minutes. During normal walking immediately following the robot-assisted walking, a change in extension-flexion range of the hip joint through a step cycle was observed. The range of motion in the hip joint was gradually increased and became to a constant value within one minute.     • Facilitation of the corticospinal tract during passive stepping and application for locomotor training in spinal cord injured patients

      本研究では,ロボットアシストによるヒトの受動歩行時に,経頭蓋磁気刺激の入力(刺激強度)-出力(運動誘発電位振幅)関係から,下肢筋群の皮質脊髄路興奮性が歩行位相に依存して変化することを観察した。中でも前脛骨筋の皮質脊髄路は,荷重に関連した感覚入力によって特異的に促通されることを明らかにした。さらに,受動歩行時の速度増加によって皮質脊髄路の興奮性が高まることから,受動歩行による感覚入力が皮質脊髄路興奮性の促通に関与していることが示唆された。, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, 2007 -2008, Grant-in-Aid for Young Scientists (B)
