• 19世紀ドイツにおけるオルタナティーブ医療の発展とその社会的背景

  本年は、Journal der practischen Arzeykunde und Wundarzneykunst (1795-1845) の分析を通してホメオパティーの発案者であるハ-ネマンを18世紀から19世紀への世紀転換期の医学史の中で位置づける作業と、Homoopathische Monatsblatter (1876-1918) の分析を通して、第二帝制期の西南ドイツにおけるホメオパティー運動の社会史的な意義を明らかにする作業を平行して行った。 ハ-ネマンの位置づけに関しては、正規の医学教育を大学で受けて、当時の医学界の常識から出発した彼が、まだ、伝統的で非合理な治療を行っている医療の世界を批判し、科学性を追求する過程で、従来の医学から逸脱し、アウトサイダーとして医師の世界から疎外されていったことが明らかになった。しかし、近代医療技術が確立する前だった当時は、正統医療の側でも決定的な治療法をもたず、反ハ-ネマンの立場をとる医師でも、彼の治療法の効果を認めており、ホメオパティーが無力であると烙印を押されるのは、19世紀中頃以降である。 第二帝制期のホメオパティー運動に関しては、国家によって推進されていた種痘をめぐる議論を通して、特権的な地位を確保して医業を独占しようとしていた医師専門職の問題点を、運動の担い手が明確化し、告発していたことを明らかにした。同時に、19世紀後半になっても、種痘に対する国民の不安がぬぐい去れなかった背景として、種痘の安定性が確保されず、種痘禍が頻発しており、しかも、これに対する十分な対策を国家側も医師側も怠っていたことを浮き彫りにした。このように、正統医療から迷信として退けられたホメオパティーは、近代医療制度の問題点をはっきりと意識していたのである。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 1995 -1995, 奨励研究(A), 岐阜大学
