    We are progressing according to the original plan in 2022, and achieved the following results.
    Irregular Repetition Slotted ALOHA (IR-SA) scheme is an example of unsourced random access communications. It is simple and practical for applications. Over fading channels, however, the limit performances, i.e., theoretical bounds, of the IR-SA are unknown. In 2022, one of our works is to derive two theoretical bounds of IR-SA over fading channels: a maximum a posteriori (MAP) threshold and a converse bound. The MAP threshold is a theoretical upper bound of a practical decoding performance. The converse bound expresses an impossibility threshold to be approached.   • Research on Coding for Large-Scale Sensor Networks

    This research project aims to construct a coding method and decoding algorithm for large-scale sensor networks and evaluate their characteristics. For coding methods in multiple access channels, (1) an algebraic coding method and (2) successive interference cancellation-based coding schemes are proposed to obtain a code with a higher transmission rate and performance.   • Spatial Coupling Codes for Multiple-Access Communications

    We developed new spatial coupled codes to improve the spectrum efficiency for wireless communication systems. For the point-to-point communications, we proposed three kinds of spatial coupled codes, and optimized these codes. Numerical analysis and computer simulation show that decoding performance of these codes approach the theoretic limit. Moreover, we developed a kind of spatial coupled codes for multiple-access communication systems.   • ITS Network Architecture for Narrowband V2X Communications

    For cooperative ITS that supports safe driving by vehicle-to-vehicle / road-to-vehicle communication, ITS network architecture suitable for narrow band communication which is the real situation of Japan was constructed. In this research, we evaluated the overhead in the existing methods by adapting efficient service using vehicle-to-vehicle communication and cellular networks.Compared with the existing method, it is confirmed to reduce the number of packets transmitted and improve the packet arrival rate.
