  • Energy-saving optimal trajectories for Electric Vehicles drive considering the load characteristics

    In order to drive the electric vehicles using motors (automobiles, trains, automatic guided vehicles, etc.) efficiently, the energy loss should be minimized during its operation. In this study, a design methodology of the optimal trajectories of torque, rotating speed and so on to minimize the energy loss when the operation time, rotating speed, and rotational angle are given as drive conditions in consideration of load characteristics. In addition, optimal trajectories are designed considering the characteristics that vary depending on operating points, such as damping characteristics and motor iron loss characteristics.   • Development of Stability Assurance Method for Extension of Grid-Connected System

    This research developed a passivity-based control of a grid-connected inverter both for single- and three-phase types. Especially a simple and effective design method based on the complex vector theory for a three-phase inverter is developed and it passivate the system for all frequency bands. When an inverter with the developed passive control method is connected in parallel, even a weak grid system is made more stable. Stabilization conditions are deduced by the impedance method. This research also developed a general-purpose simulator for frequency characteristic analysis and it can be applicable even to a system with nonlinear control elements.   • Design methodology of integrated optimal trajectories for energy saving and safety drive of EVs

  • Fast Active Stabilization Method of Grid-Connected Power Conversion System

    This study developed three methods for grid-connected power conversion systems; filter-resonance damping control, fast and wide system stabilization, and efficient simulation methods. An active damping control based on virtual resistors is developed to suppress filter resonances. An energy-based control method based on the Lyapunov function is developed to stabilize the system fast and widely. A new stabilized control method which can suppress the resonance is developed with combination of the above two control methods, and it is validated theoretically and experimentally. A fast and efficient simulation method based on the circuit-partitioning technique is developed and modified for applications including digital control programs.   • Study on Accurate and Efficient Simulation Methods of Power Conversion Systems

    This study developed accurate and efficient simulation methods of power conversion systems. It consists of two processes ; one is the modeling process and the other is the simulation process. For the former, a reduced-order model synthesis method is developed and it extracts a lumped parameter equivalent circuit for a frequency-dependent complex component with a given degree of freedom. It has a special feature that it can synthesize the circuit only with the positive values of elements. It is validated experimentally by PE system modeling examples. For the latter, a circuit partitioning method and a steady-state periodic analysis method are developed and they can analyze a PE system accurately and efficiently. They can analyze the system faster by applying the proposed parallel algorithms.
