  • Transport of Colloidal Particles in Unsaturated Soils

    本研究では,気液界面存在下における多孔質体中のコロイド粒子挙動の実態把握に基づき、不飽和土壌内でのコロイド粒子の土壌内移動特性を解明することを目的とする。本年度はまず、X線CTを用いた不飽和土壌の間隙構造のキャラクタリゼーションと、間隙構造パラメータと各種物質輸送係数の関係について調べた。粒径の異なる砂試料を用いて、異なる水分状態(完全飽和、封入不飽和、連続不飽和(脱水・吸水過程))にある砂充填カラムを作成し、物質輸送係数として飽和・不飽和透水係数、ガス拡散係数、通気係数を測定した。また各水分条件において、X線CT装置を用いて液相・気相の間隙径分布に加え、各相の屈曲度・連結性を定量的に評価した。結果、封入空気の気泡径と分布が封入不飽和状態下での透水係数の低下度に大きく影響を与えること、同一水分条件下で吸水過程は脱水過程に比べ粗大間隙ネットワークの連結性が高く、結果としてガス拡散係数および通気係数が高くなること、など気液界面存在下における間隙構造と物質輸送特性に関する貴重な基礎的知見が得られた。さらに本年度は、間隙水の化学的特性が多孔質体中のコロイド挙動に与える影響を調べるため、Na+やCa2+などのイオン種やイオン濃度を変えた条件で砂充填カラムへのラテックス粒子注入実験を行った。二価陽イオン存在下ではコロイド粒子沈着が促進することや、NaとCaとのイオン交換反応時における沈着コロイド粒子の脱離挙動が、DLVO理論に基づくコロイド粒子と充填粒子表面との相互作用力によって説明できることを示した。また次年度に向けて、マイクロ間隙流路を用いたコロイド粒子挙動直接観察の装置セットアップや、AFMを用いたコロイド粒子と充填粒子表面との相互作用力測定に関する実験を開始した。, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), 2021/04 -2024/03, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), The University of Tokyo
  • 新たな視点に基づく非水液体中での微粒子分散評価体系の構築

    本研究は、有機溶媒中で固体表面間に働く相互作用力を原子間力顕微鏡(AFM)で測定するとともに、溶媒分子の表面への親和性の相関をパルス核磁気共鳴(NMR)法によって評価し、これらが粒子の分散安定性相互作用に与える影響を検討することで、新たな非水液体中での微粒子分散評価体系の構築に資するものである。 本年度は、表面改質を施さない場合、またシランカップリング剤での表面改質により各種官能基を担持した場合のシリカ粒子および表面について、各種有機溶媒中への分散液のNMR緩和時間を粒子濃度に対して測定し、固体-溶媒分子間の相互作用の強弱を評価した。またAFMにより粒子-基板間の表面間力を測定するとともに、バルク分散液の分散凝集特性の評価も行った。 結果においては、表面改質の有無や表面に担持した官能基の種類によらず、ほとんどの場合には溶媒中で粒子が分散する系において、表面間に~5 nmの短距離の斥力が作用し、凝集する系ではvan der Waals引力とみられる引力が作用することが確認された。これとNMRによる緩和時間測定で得られた固体-溶媒分子間の相互作用の強弱と、固体表面間の斥力または引力の発生を比較すると、両者には明らかな相関がある可能性が強いことがわかった。つまり緩和時間が短く固体-溶媒分子間の相互作用が強いときには固体表面間に斥力が作用し、緩和時間が長く固体-溶媒分子間の相互作用が弱いときには固体表面間には引力が作用した。すなわち、粒子表面-溶媒分子間の相互作用が強い場合には固体表面に吸着した溶媒分子間の溶媒和力によって、微粒子の分散安定がもたらされていることが示唆される。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業 基盤研究(B), 2021/04 -2024/03, 基盤研究(B), 岡山大学
  • Efficient spatial confinement of incident electric field on subwavelength-scale structures having cycloid-like cross section and its application for sensitive biosensor

    From our preliminary research, we have found that subwavelength-scale structures having cycloid-like cross section is effective for electric field confinement, and it is suitable for highly sensitive biosensing. According to the basis, we have developed the functional structure, fabrication procedure especially obtaining the sensing tip on flexible polymer films, and surface functionalization of the sensor chip. As a result, we achieved sufficient progress towards the realization of a highly sensitive portable sensing system that obviates the spectroscopic measurement with a spectrophotometer. Furthermore, concerning the development on high-speed calculation of electric field propagation, we have found succeeded to derive a new analytical solution for Helmholtz equation in the parabolic coordinate system.   • Enhancement of local electric field in the atto-liter space and its application for ultra sensitive screening tips

    In this research, it have aimed to fabricate a controlled atto-liter space whose dimension below a sub-wavelength and to confine a plasmon resonance field into the space in order to achieve ultrahigh-sensitive biosensing. Then, we obtained a unique structure fabrication method templating polystylene spherical particles and an appropriate condition for structure replication via nanoimprinting process, and also proved that the local surface plasmon chip exhibits ultra-high sensitivity even for the sample containing a certain contaminant. Moreover, we have developed a prototype testing system consists of palmtop optical measurement apparatus and remote operation terminal that was not included in the original plan of this project, and succeeded to clarify a practical image of the real application.
