• 多民族国家のナショナリズムに関する比較研究：イギリスとロシア（ソ連）を中心に

  本研究は力久がイギリスを担当し、岡山大学の河原祐馬教授がロシア（ソ連）を担当する共同研究である。 2021年度に予定していた国内で実施可能な既存の理論および事例研究の整理については、前年度に引き続きおおむね順調に進めることができた。特に、1970年代にBreak-up of Britainという衝撃的なタイトルの著書を出版したトム・ネアンが、スコットランドのナショナリズムと比べると、イングランドのナショナリズムは反動的、排外的な性格が強いとする以前の立場を、イギリスの地域分権が進んだ21世紀以降やや改めて、進歩的、開放的な性格を持つ可能性を展望するようになっていたことを確認したのは収穫であった。また、ロシアとエストニアの事例を中心として旧ソ連地域の民族問題における主たる課題について考察するために、カレン・バーキーによるロシア、オスマン、ハプスブルクに関する帝国の比較研究を参考にした。 一方、前年度に引き続き、2021年度も世界的な新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大の影響で、イギリス（力久）およびロシア（河原）を訪問して海外研究調査を行うことがかなわなかったため、研究計画の実施について一定の遅れが見られることになった。 本年度の研究成果については、力久が、イギリスの周辺ネイションの一つであるスコットランドのナショナリズムについてEU離脱との関係について考察を進め、その知見の一部を、国際政治統合研究会にて口頭発表し、その内容を発展させた論文を、「ブレグジットと領域政治：二つのレファレンダムとスコットランド独立問題」として『同志社法学』に発表している。, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), 2020/04 -2023/03, Principal investigator, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), Doshisha University

• Comparative Studies on the Suffrage for the Foreigners : In the "Transformation" of Nation-states in Globalization

  This Study aims to analyze the status-quo of citizenship policies in several regions/countries, which had once accepted many immigrants, and investigate the conditions for coexistence in multi-ethnic societies in the 21st century. There are three main pillars in this study : first, theoretical study of globalization, nationalism and political systems, such as electoral systems and party politics ; second, study of historical processes how immigrants have been dealt in the regions/countries concerned ; third, comparative study of citizenship policy for the foreign-born permanent residents in these regions/countries, such as electoral franchise for them.
