昨年度に引き続き本年度も、コロナウイルス感染拡大のため対面の会議などを開催することは困難であったが、研究代表者並びに研究分担者は、研究計画に従ってそれぞれの調査を進めた。加えて、オンラインを通じた研究会並びに共同研究の成果を刊行した。 代表者並びに分担者が執筆する研究成果は数多く刊行された。代表者の高山博は監訳者として、分担者の藤崎衛は共訳者として、D・アブラフィア（著）『地中海と人間―原始・古代から現代まで』を刊行し、海域という観点を通じて国家や統治のあり方を再考すべき視点が共有された。分担者の加藤玄は『ジャンヌ・ダルクと百年戦争』でジャンヌダルクを通じて中世後期フランスの統治システムを、菊地はHerrschaft, Delegation …で、初期中世のフランク王国統治における中央と地方との関係を特徴づけた。 特記すべきは、研究計画の中間報告である高山博・亀長洋子編『中世ヨーロッパの政治的結合体』を刊行したことである。本論集は、統治システムという観点から、中世ヨーロッパを「北欧・イングランド世界の政治的結合体」「大陸ヨーロッパ世界の政治的結合体」「教会世界の政治的結合体」「南ヨーロッパ世界の政治的結合体」「ビザンツ世界の政治的結合体」という五つのパートに分け、各地域の特徴を比較することで、中世ヨーロッパの統治システム全体を明らかにする成果である。研究代表者による総論、分担者によるパートごとの総括5本、そして研究協力者も含めた個別論文22本から構成されている。その際、①現在の大国にフォーカスする従来の研究では等閑視されがちであった北欧、東欧、南欧、アルメニア、黒海のような辺境への注目、②教皇庁や修道会のように国境や言語圏を越えた広域ネットワークへの着目、③統治するものと統治されるものの相互作用から生成する独特の政治文化の抽出といった本科研の目的に沿った成果を得た。, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), 2019/04 -2023/03, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), The University of Tokyo - 13世紀の教皇庁とイベリア半島諸国におけるムスリム認識

前年度に続き、研究テーマである「中世盛期アラゴン連合王国における統治構造の変容」についての研究を行った。当該年度は特に君主権力と教会の関係についての分析を進めた。 このうち、十二世紀のアラゴン連合王国国王とテンプル騎士修道会の関係についての研究は、論文としてまとめ、『西洋史学』誌に掲載することが出来た。また、十二世紀から十三世紀初頭にかけての同国王とタラゴーナ大司教座の関係についての研究も論文としてまとめ、『史学雑誌』誌に掲載することが出来た。さらに、十二世紀の国王とジローナ司教座の関係はスペイン語で論文としてまとめ、スペインの代表的な中世史専門の学術雑誌であるActa Historica Archaeologica et Mediaevalia誌に投稿し、2012年号への掲載が決定されている。 また、論文の活字化に並行し、海外での学会報告も積極的に行うことが出来た。2011年6月にはスペインのリェイダ大学で開かれたInternational Medieval Meetingにおいて、また7月にはイギリスのリーズ大学で開かれたInternational Medieval Congressにおいて、それぞれイスラーム教徒からの征服地におけるアラゴン連合王国国王と教会の関係について報告を行った。 さらに、バルセロナ大学中世史・古文書学専門分野の教授陣の勧めを受け、上記の諸成果をはじめとする研究成果をスペイン語で博士論文としてまとめ、同大学同専門分野に提出することが出来た。2012年2月に当該博士論文の審査会が開かれ、結果として同大学から博士号を授与された。 このように、当該年度は多くの研究を様々な形態で成果として形に残し、かつ国内だけでなく、スペインやイギリスなど海外でも積極的に発信し、評価を得ることが出来た。このことは、我が国の西洋史研究の動向やレベルを国際的に認知してもらう上でも意義があり、また今後、国際的に研究活動を展開していく上で必要な知名度や人脈を築くことが出来た点で、重要性を有すると考えられる。, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grant-in-Aid for JSPS Fellows, 2009/04 -2012/03, Principal investigator, Competitive research funding, 特別研究員奨励費, 東京外国語大学 - 中世盛期アラゴン連合王国における統治構造の変容
