  脳は安定で固い状態と乱雑な状態の間の臨界点に調整されることで高いパフォーマンスを示すことが知られている。本研究では、脳の状態が臨界点に調整されることで、機能的な探索行動を示すことを数理的に明らかにし、さらに人間の実証データでは認知機能が高い人ほどそのような探索的な振る舞いを示すことを明らかにした。この知見は、認知機能低下を早期発見するためのシグナルを抽出することや、認知機能低下を防ぐための介入手法の開発に対して基礎的な知見を与えると期待できる。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 2018年04月 -2022年03月, 若手研究, 国立研究開発法人理化学研究所
• 野外で生物リズムを持たない個体は、どのように環境に適応して生存しているのか？

  野外より採集してきたコクヌストモドキ類の生物リズムをアクトグラフ装置で測定したところ、リズムが無いと判断できる個体が多くいた。研究初年度は測定した個体の歩行活動データを、カイ二乗ピリオドグラムの測定結果に基づき、リズムの有る個体とリズムの無い個体に分別した。ところが研究2年目になって統計手法に詳しい研究者に相談したところ、この手法でリズムの有無を判断する場合には、統計的な問題点が見つかった。そこで研究３年目に、これらの研究者を研究分担者に加えて、リズムの有無ではなく、リズムの強さをパラメーターとして研究課題の問いに答えることを試みた。その結果、リズムの強さには遺伝変異が存在することがわかった。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 2016年04月 -2019年03月, 挑戦的萌芽研究, 岡山大学
• 動物行動の定量データ取得アルゴリズムの開発と順位行動の長期動態解析

  本研究課題では、社会性昆虫アリである沖縄産トゲオオハリアリ(Diacamma sp.)を対象に、各個体の胸部にバーコードタグを接着剤で貼り付け、画像解析するソフトウェアを用いることにより、コロニー（巣）内の全個体の位置・向き情報を1秒1コマの高い時間解像度で長期間取得する実験システムを室内において構築した。そこから、社会性昆虫がどのように統合され、集団的な秩序を形成しているかの一端を明らかにした。また、動物行動における探索行動の理論研究をすすめ、性的二型が進化しうる条件を明らかにした。, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 2015年08月 -2017年03月, 研究活動スタート支援, 国立情報学研究所
